BIOGRAPHY

Simone Damiani enjoys a musical career as pianist and piano teacher, pursuing a holistic approach to piano technique and utter sensitivity to producing a distinguished sound, described as “beautifully singing” by Vladimir Ovchinnikov. Simone performed solo and chamber music across Europe in the UK, Italy, Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland and Sweden. In Budapest, he performed solo piano music by Ottorino Respighi and a selection of Arias from Italian Operas in 600 seats Sala Verdi at the Italian Institute of Culture. He performed as a soloist for two consecutive years in the “Corato International Piano Festival” (Italy) performing music by Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt, Chopin, Scriabin, and participated to the “Aurora Music Festival” in Sweden performing music by Chopin and Beethoven. Performing is at the core of Simone’s teaching principles: focusing on a deep understanding of music production, Simone’s pedagogical approach aims for effortless and enjoyable playing through application of holistic principles and understanding of notation. Simone is a piano tutor at Stamford Endowed Schools and Bedford School, having previously taught at other prestigious institutions such as Cheltenham College and Warwick School. He also teaches privately online and face to face, working with students from Italy, Belgium and the UK. His teaching also benefits from knowledge of Kodaly and Gordon methods. Simone’s musical roots start in Italy with Valfrido Ferrari, but his musical education spreads across the UK, Hungary and Belgium: after completing his Bachelor studies with Dr Robert Markham and Daniel Browell at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, he attended the Liszt Academy of Music as a Weingarten Scholar. In June 2020, Simone graduated with a Master Degree in the class of Polina Leschenko at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. In 2022, Simone graduated with an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Performance (level 8) from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, under the tutelage of Dr Robert Markham and Daniel Browell. At present, he is based in Stamford, UK.
